1. What is precipitation?
Answer: Falling of moisture in the form of rainfall, snow, fog, sleet, and hailstorm is termed precipitation.
2. What is water cycle?
Answer: The water cycle is the process by which water continually changes its form and circulates between oceans, the atmosphere, and land. Water is evaporated from the oceans and forms clouds. Condensation occurs in clouds and water comes back to the surface as precipitation. Water runs off to oceans and completes the cycle.
3. What are the factors affecting the height of the waves?
Answer: Winds, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or underwater landslides are the factors affecting the height of the waves.
If the wind blows stronger, then waves rise higher.
Strong earthquakes cause faster and higher waves.
4. Which factors affect the movement of ocean water?
Answer: Oceanic water moves in three ways – (1) Waves, (2) Tides, and (3) Currents.

6. What are ocean currents?
Answer: Ocean currents are the constant flow of water on the ocean surface in definite directions. Currents are caused by the temperature difference. There are two types of currents: (1) Cold currents, and (2) Warm currents.

Reason: A large amount of dissolved salts makes the ocean water salty.
2. The quality of water is deteriorating.
